On Friday 27th April 2018, my friend and I went to Pivaz in Brentwood, Essex for the first time.
It’s located on the high street which is convenient and there’s parking just around the corner which is a few minutes walk away.
The decor is amazing! Upon walking into the restaurant I was immediately taken back. It’s a fairly big size, with a sort of retro theme going on.
It’s a modern, yet retro vibe and makes for perfect photo opportunities!
The staff were attentive and observant as I never went without a drink. I recommend the strawberry cheesecake cocktail. Honestly it’s the best thing I’ve had. Sweet, yet not overpowering and it actually tastes of strawberry cheesecake! The cocktails are prices between £10.50-£12.95, which is a little pricey!
I had halloumi cheese for starter which was perfectly cooked, and a lamb and chicken sheesh for my main. Both meats were lovely and the rice that comes with it was also nice.
For desert I had a chocolate brownie, and at first glance I was like “£6 for something that small”. But it was just enough to fill my food-loving self.
The bill came in at £133 for two of us, and included a 12% service charge. I didn’t think £133 for that bad for 2 starters, 2 cocktails, 2 fizzy drinks, 1 bottle of still water, 2 mixed sheesh’s and 2 deserts.
You get added extras like complimentary bread with your starters and mains. There’s also a cocktail bar upstairs which, although we didn’t go to – I thought was nice.
So overall I was extremely impressed with this restaurant. I’d read negative reviews beforehand – but can say that I’d recommend it and would definitely go back!
