I’m so happy it’s officially September because to me that means one thing – it’s basically Autumn – and shopping for Autumn/Winter is my favourite!
I started my shopping early. As you can remember if you read my blog, I went to Portsmouth late August and it’s here where I bought my first ‘Autumn’ item.
I’ve decided to do a ‘key piece’ Autumn post every time I buy something that I think may interest anyone. I’ll include alternatives as well so if you don’t like what I bought, there may be similar – but different – items you might love.
I read countless numbers of magazines, and I’m attending London Fashion Week so these can influence my posts – but above all I have to actually like what I’m buying. I don’t buy things just because they’re in fashion, otherwise I won’t get round to using it as I won’t like it.
Anyway, my first ‘key piece for Autumn’ is this Michael Kors bucket bag*:
*I promise I’m not being sponsored by Michael Kors as many of my post include the designs!
I know you’re probably thinking ‘a Michael Kors bag just to buy for no reason is a waste of money’ – BUT I bought this at Gunwharf Quays so it was in an outlet.
I paid £118 for this bag and it is a lot of money – but look how much it originally cost:
it originally cost £260, the outlet price was £169 – but I got another 30% off so ended up paying £118.
I was so pleased with this discount, as I think the burgundy colour is very autumnal and I love the fact it is a shoulder bag.
The ‘bucket’ design means it’s bigger than a typical shoulder bag, and there’s an adjustable buckle strap so you can choose how long you want to make it.
I think the black panel at the bottom means I’m able to wear this with almost anything – as it’s true what they say – “black goes with everything”.
I understand it’s a lot of money to spend on a bag, but last year I bought one in September for £30 from a high-street store, and then had to buy another bag in November as the first one’s handle fell off!
I also think that because it was expensive, I know I can’t buy another bag as I can’t justify spending more money and I know the quality of this bag will be superb so I won’t need too!
I think this bag will always be on trend as there’s so many different features to it, so that’s another reason as to why I won’t need to purchase another one next year!
However, if you don’t like this bag – or you can’t spend this sort of money then here are a few alternatives:

I’m going to save my bag to wear outside of work, and I’ll take a picture when I take it on it’s first outing so you can see what it looks like properly 🙂
Let me know if you’ve bought anything recently because I love finding inspiration from other people!
